1- After more than half a century, the Somali people gathered at the local council election elections in Mogadishu’s Banaadir region.

15- Minister of Information Daud Aweis Jama conducted training for more than 60 national media staff covering the Banadir Regional Council elections.

16- Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdisalam Abdi Ali held a working meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Badr Abdelaty, in Cairo.

17- Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, participated in the second ministerial meeting of the Russia-Africa Cooperation Forum in Cairo, held from December 19–20.

18- Minister of Communications and Technology Mohamed Aden Moalim inaugurated the Third National Forum on Somalia’s Digital Security.

19- Former Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Guled and the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Abdirahman Yusuf Omar collected their voting cards at the National Theatre center.

20- Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur met in Ankara with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

21- Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction & Housing Ayub Ismail Yusuf chaired a an introductory meeting attended by Deputy Minister, Director-General, Directors of Departments and Ministry Advisors.

22- Minister of Environment and Climate Change Bashir Mohamed Jama toured districts within Galmudug State to assess drought conditions and climate change impacts.

23- Minister of Environment and Climate Change Bashir Mohamed Jama visited the towns of Hobyo, Xiin Barwaaqo and Ceelhuur in Galmudug to evaluate environmental conditions and climate-change effects there.

24- State Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ali Mohamed Omar has addressed the department heads during an away day meeting at the Ministry.

25- Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Mohamed Abdullahi Farah inaugurated a site for natural gas flare lighting in Gaalkacyo.

26- Members of both Houses of the Somali Parliament held a joint session and approved the 2026 government budget.

27- Police Chief General Asad Osman Abdullahi has deployed security personnel for Banaadir Local elections as planned.

28- The National Internet Security Council was officially closed in Mogadishu, organized jointly by the National Communications Authority (NCA) and Mogadishu University.

29- The Prime Minister’s Office held a meeting with directors and media workers from the Presidency, ministries and various government agencies.
