6 Alshabaab terrorists killed in air strike in South west Somalia

On January 6, the Federal Government of Somalia worked with the United States to degrade Al-Shabaab through an airstrike that targeted al-Shabaab fighters near Dheerow Sanle, killing six Al Shabaab fighters. The targeting of Al Shabaab fighters disrupts their efforts to extort and terrorize the local population. We continue to use all possible measures to protect local residents from terrorists. We assess that no civilians were killed or injured in the strike.
