Security officers in Puntland region in Somalia have arrested 14 al Shabaab militants in the town of Bosaso. The 14 were arrested after security operation was launched in the town of the semi-autonomous region of Somalia targeting the fighters.
The security operation was targeting ISIS-affiliated faction of the al Shabaab in the region and who have been mounting attacks against security officials and military positions in the area.
The ISIS-affiliated faction of the al Shabaab has appeared to be more radical and violent as it tries to seek legitimacy from IS in Iraq and Syria. Security forces in the area have intensified security and operations to decapitate their operations in the area.
